Product Overview
The MAX6161BESA+ is a precision, low dropout, micropower voltage reference in 8 pin NSOIC package. This three terminal device features a curvature correction circuit and laser trimmed thin film resistors that result in a very low temperature coefficient of ±15ppm/°C maximum and an initial accuracy of ±4mV. This device offers a supply current that is virtually independent of the supply voltage (8µA/V variation) and do not require an external resistor. It is an internal compensated device which does not require an external compensation capacitor. Eliminating the external compensation capacitor saves valuable board area in space critical applications. The low dropout voltage, independent supply voltage and ultra low supply current makes it ideal for battery operated and high performance low voltage systems. Typical applications include ADCs, notebook computers, PDAs, GPS, DMMs, cellular phones and precision +3V/+5V systems.
- Output voltage is 1.25V, high output current, no external capacitor required
- Typically draws only 125μA of supply current and can source 4mA or sink 2mA of load current
- Supply voltage range from 2.5V to 12.6V
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
- Stable with 1μF capacitive loads
- Load regulation is 0.5mV/mA at 4mA source current, line regulation is 12µV/V at 2.5V ≤ VIN ≤ 12.6V
- Noise voltage is 20μVP-P at 0.1Hz to 10Hz, 15µVRMS at f = 10Hz to 10KHz
- 5mA source current at 0.9mV/mA, 2mA sink current at 2.5mV/mA
- 200mV (max) dropout at 1mA load current
- Ripple rejection is 80dB at VIN = +5V ±100mV, f = 120Hz
