The DS2784G+ is a 1-cell stand-alone fuel gauge IC with Li+ protector and SHA-1 authentication in 14 pin TDFN package. This device is used to operate with battery packs of single lithium-ion (Li+) or Li+ polymer cell. Available capacity is reported in mAh and as a percentage. Safe operation is ensured with the included Li+ protection function and SHA-1-based challenge-response authentication. Voltage, temperature and current, cell characteristics and application parameters are used to estimate capacity. The capacity registers report a conservative estimate of the amount of charge from all application parameters.
- Supply voltage range is 2.5V to 4.6V
- Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
- Capacity estimated from coulomb count, discharge rate, temperature & cell characteristics
- Estimates cell aging using learn cycles
- Allows for calibration of gain and temperature coefficient
- Li+ safety circuitry for overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit protection
- Authentication using SHA-1 algorithim and 64bit secret
- 32byte parameter EEPROM
- 16byte user EEPROM
- 1-wire interface with 64bit unique ID
